At our Preschool in Pembroke Pines, children progress with a program designed around Dr. Maria Montessori’s concept of the “Absorbent Mind,” recognizing a child’s ability to learn through hands-on exploration. Through repetition and self-correcting materials, children develop mastery, independence, and a love for learning.
Making sense of the world
Children grow as thinkers by training their senses, exploring dimensions, length, width, textures, smells, temperature, sound/pitch, and colors, to better understand and organize the world around them.
Becoming independent
At our Kindergarten in Pembroke Pines, children develop order, concentration, coordinated movement, and independence as they wash, polish, care for themselves and their environment, and prepare food, while strengthening the fine motor skills needed to manipulate tools and write.
Communicating with confidence
Children are introduced to the alphabet through phonetic sounds and practice each letter with sandpaper letters, building the strength and control needed for handwriting. Using the moveable alphabet, they blend sounds and prepare to read short vowel words in a natural, engaging way.
In a language-rich environment filled with Montessori materials, children build words, sentences, and phonograms, while workbooks and reading books are introduced later to reinforce the concepts they have already explored through hands-on Montessori lessons.
Enhancing logical reasoning
Children use Montessori materials to learn number recognition, quantity, and their association, gradually exploring teen numbers, place value, and the four operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with confidence.
Understanding the world around them
Children work with planispheres, continent maps, flags, and historical facts to discover other cultures, nurturing understanding, respect, and compassion for the wider world.
Exploring through experimentation
At our Montessori Preschool in Pembroke Pines, children explore botany and zoology through concrete, hands-on activities that make learning engaging and memorable. They study the parts of a tree, flower, and leaf, and begin classifying animals into groups such as mammals, reptiles, birds, amphibians, and fish, laying a strong foundation for deeper scientific understanding.
Expanding the curriculum
Through daily enrichment in Spanish, Yoga, Art, Music, Dress-Up, and Drama, children broaden their learning beyond the core classroom. These experiences invite them to move, create, communicate, and express themselves in new ways, supporting language development, physical well-being, imagination, and confidence.
At one of the best Preschools in Pembroke Pines, children enhance concentration, independence, and a sense of satisfaction empowered by enriching experiences.
Academic achievement
Enjoy personalized learning that continuously enhances knowledge, skills, and understanding.
Gain essential life skills to thrive in inside and outside the classroom.
Multilingualism
Foster language and communications skills from an early age while building confidence in oral expression.
Families stay closely connected to their child’s progress through a variety of ongoing communication channels. Parents receive regular newsletters that highlight classroom activities and learning focuses, attend scheduled parent-teacher conferences for in-depth, individual updates, and are invited to open houses to see the learning environment and student work firsthand.
Formal report cards are also shared to summarize each child’s development over time across key areas of learning and growth.
Children develop essential life competencies in a carefully prepared environment rich with opportunities for activity, exploration, and movement. As they engage in meaningful work, their concentration deepens, independence grows, and they experience genuine satisfaction in completing tasks with joy. Through daily interactions and hands-on activities, children learn to share, take turns, cooperate, and show kindness, while clearly expressing their needs, listening to others, and expanding their vocabulary.
They build early literacy skills such as phonetic awareness, early reading, and handwriting, alongside problem-solving abilities, fine and gross motor coordination, and the confidence and emotional awareness needed to navigate their world with grace and resilience.
At our Preschool in Pembroke Pines, multilingualism is a daily part of life and a pathway to global citizenship, cultural empathy, and cognitive growth. We foster a vibrant, inclusive environment where students, educators, and families value and use multiple languages.
Children first meet the alphabet through phonetic sounds and sandpaper letters, linking each sound to its symbol while refining the fine motor skills needed for writing. Only later do they move on to workbooks and readers, which reinforce what they have already discovered with hands‑on materials.
Enrichment classes in Spanish introduce a world language early on, building familiarity and basic understanding in a natural, engaging way.
I HIGHLY recommend Montessori Academy of Broward to anyone and everyone interested in giving the gift of a great all-around foundation to their kids. My daughter has thrived here not just academically, but emotionally as well. Montessori is not just a school—it's a family.
