MAB at Home: Eagles Transition to Distance Learning
At Montessori Academy, one of our guiding principles is to “teach our students to be independent workers and thinkers, to develop respect for themselves and others, as well as our world and environment.” This guiding principle speaks to our students’ individual gifts, the diversity in learning through the Montessori method, and our teachers’ ability to meet every student’s unique needs.
This year has shown us that our flexibility, creativity, and our strong sense of community are more vital than ever to our students’ growth and success.

On March 9, 2020, Montessori Academy made the difficult, but proactive, decision to close our campus in light of the Covid-19 global pandemic. One week later, we began delivering our Montessori curriculum online through distance learning. The dedication to our students’ learning did not waver during this transition, thanks to the resilience of the entire Montessori Academy community.
We could not be prouder of the efforts of our teachers and students. The desire to preserve the joys of the Montessori Academy experience, even under difficult circumstances, is a testament to our school community’s strength. Though not devoid of the occasional technical difficulty, teaching and learning continued productively, and our families’ reports were positive.
Montessori Academy is proud to continue to provide our Montessori curriculum through a virtual learning option uniquely designed to offer our students a learning environment focused on their specific academic and individual needs.
We are Eagles, after all. It’s no surprise that we adapt and boldly fly high above the rest when encountering a new challenge.
